BJP wins Delhi's Rajouri Garden Assembly situate, AAP even loses store

New Delhi: Just 10 days in front of Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) Elections, the Bharatiya Janata Party on Thursday enrolled a colossal triumph in the Rajouri Garden Assembly by-survey.

BJP-SAD joint competitor Manjinder Singh Sirsa vanquished his closest opponent Meenakshi Chandela of the Congress by an edge of about 14,000 votes.

Sirsa surveyed 40,602 votes, Chandela 25,950 and the AAP's Harjeet Singh 10,243 out of an aggregate 78,091 votes cast amid survey on Sunday, the Election Commission said after the seventeenth and last round of tallying.

Regarding vote share, the Congress organized a turnaround of sorts by getting around 33 percent of the aggregate votes cast, in a hop of more than 21 percent over the 2015 Assembly surveys.

With the triumph, the BJP's count in the 70-part Delhi Assembly will end up plainly four. The Congress does not have any nearness in the House.
