J-K: Three held in Kulgam for raping minor girls

Police have arrested three men from Kulgam district of Jammu and Kashmir for allegedly raping two minor girls five days ago.

One of the girls filed a police complaint in Kulgam, alleging she and her friend were abducted by three men while returning home, a police official said on Sunday.

The girl alleged that they were then taken to some unknown building by the men and raped there.

He said medico-legal formalities of the victims were conducted and the statements have been recorded.

“More arrests are expected in coming days and every possible effort is being made to ensure that strict punishment is awarded to the culprits under law,” he added.

Chetan Cheetah survives 9 bullets, beats death and comes out of coma after 2 months

CRPF commandant Chetan Cheetah, who had slipped into unconsciousness for two months in the wake of being shot nine times amid an experience with three psychological militants in Kashmir's Bandipora, is out of trance state now.

Clergyman of State (MoS) for Home Affairs Kiren Rijiju on Wednesday met CRPF commandant Chetan Cheetah.

Expressing gratitude toward the specialists at AIIMS for their exceptional work Rijiju said that he was astounded to see Cheetah grinning and that his fight with life will help the spirit of different officers.

"He is doing fine. It's phenomenal, as a matter of first importance I might want to thank group of specialists from AIIMS. The day I came here when he was brought from Srinagar, it was hard to envision that he will converse with me," said Rijiju.  Read more:- Mobile Number Database Provider

"We are extremely pleased with him. He is an overcome officer and this will help the assurance of the various jawans. He was grinning and was eager to get back on obligation. This demonstrates his capacity to survive and his resolution," he included.
